“Leider gibt es im Ort keinen Bäcker mehr und nach unserem Wissen auch kein Geschäft für Waren des täglichen Bedarfs. Dafür ist die Forellenzucht mit Verkauf von frischem und geräuchertem Fisch sehr zu empfehlen. Auch für Angelfreunde ist Altenbrak eine gute Wahl, da die Bode Forellen einen guten Lebensraum bietet. Jedoch ist die Fangquote stark reglementiert und auch nur Fliegenfischen zulässig. Sonst kann man nur sagen, ein kleiner Harzort, an der Bode, mit Fachwerk und netten Menschen.”
