The Residence il Poggiolino, an old estate in Tuscan style, is located 38 km away from the center of Florence, among the green hills of Mugello at the foot of Passo della Futa. The Mugello extends between Florence and the Tuscan Apennines and offers unique landscapes with dense forests and crystal clear streams, crossed by many trails, with picturesque villages and some of the great villas of the Medici.


The small holiday complex was lovingly restored in every detail in 2007 and provides 11 apartments equipped with modern comforts. All apartments have a terrace or a private small garden and a reserved parking.


The garden for shared use has a panoramic swimming pool (6 x 12 m) with a small waterfall. It is open from about mid-May to late September. A grill and an open wood oven are available to guests.


Thanks to its central location, the Residence is a very good starting point for many excursions:


• The Bilancino (7 km), a lake with wonderful clear water, offers beautiful beaches with sun beds and umbrellas, as well as the possibility to do water sports like canoeing, windsurfing and sailing.


• The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello (15 km) is one of the most famous racetracks in the world. It is open throughout the year and serves as a test track for the Ferrari Formula 1 team and for most MotoGP and Superbike producers.


• The Barberino Designer Outlet (14 km), a shopping mall in the style of a Tuscan village, has more than 90 shops and boutiques of various brands. In addition, restaurants, cafes, pastry shops and playgrounds for children.


• Florence (38 km), the metropolis of Tuscany, is one of the most beautiful Renaissance cities of Italy. Here you can meet anywhere traces of Michelangelo and Giotto, the painter and the builder of the Duomo. Giotto's birthplace was restored in 1975 and offers an exhibition of some of his works.


• The international 18-holes Golf Club Poggio dei Medici (18 km), with its rolling landscape and many water hazards, offers everything for beginners and experts, who can play golf in 5 different lengths. The Ladies European Tours took place here. PGA golf instructors are available for individual lessons.


• Just 10 minutes away is the Oasis of Gabianello (WWF). Along the trails there are viewpoints in an exposed position, from where you can observe many migratory birds and their broods.

    “Die gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung findet sich in Montecarelli, etwa 45 Autominuten von der Florenzer Innenstadt entfernt. Die Anlage liegt sehr ruhig und schön gestaltet auf einer Anhöhe. Der Ausblick (vor allem vom Poolbereich) - ein Traum! Wir hatten eine über zwei Geschosse gehende Wohnung mit überdachter Terrasse. Im Erdgeschoss Wohn-, Koch- und Essbereich, im Obergeschoss ein Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und eigenem Bad und ein weiteres Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten und separatem Bad. Ein toller, großer Grill mit super Holzofen (zum selbstbacken von leckerer Holzofenpizza) ist zentral im Garten vorhanden, ebenso wie ein großzügiger Pool, der im Original schöner ist als auf den Fotos. Wer Action sucht, ist dort fehl am Platze, aber wer sich erholen will und trotzdem in kurzer Zeit kulturelle und landschaftliche Höhepunkte erleben möchte, dem sei es empfohlen. Wir haben die Zeit dort auf jeden Fall sehr genossen. Nicht zuletzt dank der vom familiären Team veranstalteten Pizzaparty, zu der alle Gäste eingeladen waren und einen netten Multikultiabend verbrachten.”
