The location of the house is also ideal for visiting the town of Saint-Maixent-l'École, founded in the 5th century, with its cobbled streets, medieval half-timbered houses and old walls, as well as the medieval town of Saint-Jean-d'Angély with its rich heritage. Of course, you should also visit the sights of Niort. Located on the banks of the river Sèvre Niortaise, the town is known for its iconic and medieval castle Donjon de Niort, beautiful market halls, old houses, impressive churches and the former town hall from the 16th century. A large part of the historic city center is car-free, as there is hardly any room for cars in the countless narrow medieval streets!
