This landscape, still mainly natural, extends from Lake Maggiore to the Alps, shaped by the impetuous River Maggia. While wandering around on the lookout for old traditions or exploring regions untouched by the frenzy of modern life, there are treasures to discover including river banks of finest sand, broad rock-pools, smooth boulders and forceful waterfalls.
The minute visitors enter the valley they discover a paradise where luxuriant vegetation and glistenging waters capture their hearts. This uncontaminated region, punctuated by small old settlements, is where and old world built of stone "Maggia valley gneiss" lives on in the everyday mores and thoughts of the inhabitants. Lose and find yourself among inviting fountains, benches, roofs and houses. An ideal way to revive yourself after a day spent touring is to taste some of the typical local dishes, accompanied by a glass of good local wine at one of the many "grotti" (taverns), found along the countless trails and cycle paths which cover the whole valley floor.

    “Unsere ganze Familie (3 Generationen) haben sich wohl gefühlt und eine wundervolle Zeit im Casa Rovana verbracht und können uns vorstellen diesen Ort wieder einmal zu besuchen. Positiv: Die wunderbare Aussicht ins Tal und die Ruhe geniessen zu können. Umgeben von der Natur und so viele Möglichkeiten für Wanderungen. Negativ: Hanglage viele Treppen (doch das gehört natürlich zu diesem Ort) für alte Menschen eher umständlich.”

    “Ferien in der Casa Rovana sind sehr zu empfehlen! Positiv: Die Lage ist perfekt, mit ÖV und Privatfahrzeug gut erreichbar, zu Fuss über kleine Wege ist man in wenigen Miunten in Cevio. Die Aussicht ist toll, der Garten lädt zum Verweilen, verschiedene Ausflugsziele sind in der Nähe. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet, alles Nötige ist vorhanden, sogar eine Spätzli-Pfanne.”

    “ideales Haus für grosse Familien an einer wunderschönen Lage Positiv: Sehr schöne Lage mit guter Aussicht, gepflegter Garten, einfache jedoch umfangreiche und zweckmässige Einrichtung, grosse Zimmer, sehr nette Vermieter Negativ: lediglich ein Badzimmer Restaurant: Trattoria Unione - Familiäres Restaurant mit gutem Essen Ausflüge: Wasserfall in Foroglio mit Wanderung ins Val Calnègia - schöner Wasserfall und Wanderung ins nur zu Fuss erreichbare Seitental vom Val Bavona.”
