Holiday villa with a private pool and a big furnished garden with citrus and olive trees, near Siracusa

The holiday villa is in the countryside, outside of the town of Siracusa. It is surrounded by citrus trees and olive groves.

The well-maintained villa consists of two independent semi-detached houses, each with their own entrance. One is occupied by the owners, while the second is let out to holiday guests. It provides seven bedrooms each with their own bathroom and can accommodate up to twenty people. It is on two floors. The ground floor has a spacious living room-kitchen of around 40m², where you can sit together sociably as a group or celebrate. The centrepiece of the room is a big wooden dining table. There are sofas and armchairs along one of the walls. The elegant kitchen unit is well-equipped, providing a washing machine, a dishwasher, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a microwave, a gas stove, an oven and a toaster. The ground floor comprises three bedrooms, of which two have four beds and one has three beds, each with a double bed. One of the four-bed rooms has a double bed and a bunk bed and the second has a double bed and two single beds, while the three-bed room has a single bed and a double bed. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower. Stairs lead up to the attic, where you can find the other four bedrooms, each with a double bed, and one with an additional single bed. These rooms also each have their own shower room. The double beds measure 160 x 190cm, the single beds 80 x 190cm. All the bedrooms and the living room-kitchen have air conditioning (cool/warm), as well as a TV with satellite channels. Two single supplementary beds can be added if required, one in one of the four-bed rooms and one in a three-bed room.

The villa is surrounded by a site of around 10,000m². The outdoor areas of the holiday accommodation are independent of those belonging to the owners. There is a furnished veranda right by the house with several tables and chairs, where you can enjoy meals and relax in the shade. A brick-built grill and a gas stove allow you to prepare meals outdoors. A table tennis table and a darts board provide entertainment. There are tables and chairs in the garden for those who prefer the sunshine. A hammock invites you to relax and read. The pool is a special feature, surrounded by a sun terrace with loungers, parasols and deckchairs. Awnings provide pleasant shade. The pool is shared with the house owners. There are children’s toys in the garden. There is a big parking space on site for several cars. Two bicycles can be used free of charge. One of the bedrooms on the upper floor provides access to a little terrace with a table and chairs.

The house owners are happy to be of assistance.

There are restaurants, pizzerias, grocery shops and bars 2km away, in the nearest locality. There is also bicycle hire nearby. The location of the holiday villa is ideal for exploring the south-east coast of Sicily. Owing to the proximity to the town centre of Siracusa (10km), shops and services are easy to get to. One should definitely visit the Necropolis at Pantalica, the baroque town of Noto, Cavagrande di Cassibile, Fonte Ciane and the natural oasis of Vendicari.

    “De woning is wat verouderd. De huiskamer en slaapkamers met de badkamers zijn sober en eenvoudig maar voldoen.
    De keukenuitrusting is onvoldoende voor een grote groep. De elektrische toestellen hebben een gebrekkige werking en kwaliteit. De koel/diepvriescombinatie is ruim onvoldoende voor een grote groep. Een nieuwe ijskast + een extra ijskast voor een grote groep is noodzakelijk. De huisraad (servies, potten, pannen, bestek, glazen) is totaal verouderd en ruim onvoldoende.
    In elke kamer is er onafhankelijke airco en dit is wel nodig bij de zomerse temperaturen in Sicilië. Keerzijde is dat het elektriciteitsvreters zijn, hou rekening met €100 extra per week.
    Het zwembad is top, groot genoeg en prima onderhouden. Ook de tuin en de speelmogelijkheden voor kinderen zijn prima.

    De ligging in een smalle doodlopende straat is excellent, rustig en geen verkeer. De woning ligt in en is omgeven door citroenboomgaarden.
    De eigenaar die deels in de aanliggende woning woont was zeer vriendelijk en gedienstig. Hij spreekt enkel Italiaans, maar lost dit op met een zgn. vertaalgadget zodat communicatie goed kan verlopen.
