This is how holiday rental owners described Haría

The capital of north is HARIA. In the wide opening "valley of the 1000 palm-trees", 270m above sea level, surrounded by protecting hills to three sides Haria is situated. To an old oral tradition in former time for the birth of a girl was planted a palm-tree and for the ...

birth of a son a couple-expression of fertility of soil and inhabitants and respect due to the environment of nature. Ancestors first settled on the surrounding hill-zones with their cave systems. Farming later followed the water to the plateau of Haria.

In Haria survived an intact landscape in a rare green region of the volcanic island. Above the village is a botanic enclave as hideaway fort he nature. The inhabitants of Haria and surrounding is engaged to keep their environment you will find there no All-inclusive-fortress, no boardwalks near by wide roads, but nice alleys in an original conserved village impression views, high palm-tress, good restaurants and typical fiestas in summertime

The idea of the "soft tourism"is realised by inhabitants of visitors by the offer of some apartments and restored land-houses. Supported is this idea by the institution of natural parks, in the north "Parque national chinijo" and "Parque nacional Corona".
